Slick roads blamed for New Year's Eve crashes
Wrecks tie up traffic, cause minor injuries
A series of car accidents were attributed to drizzle-dampened roads Monday evening.
A four-vehicle crash on I-35 at Judson tied up traffic for a while. It started when a driver rear-ended another vehicle, then bounced off a pair of vehicles before her car came to a stop. The woman ran away from the accident scene. She left her adult daughter in the vehicle.
A two-car accident on I-37 at Commerce led to a series of accidents. While a police officer was investigating that accident, a woman hit the police cruiser.
A few feet from that accident scene, a truck lost control and hit the inside wall of the highway. An officer had to leap over the median to avoid getting hit.
