Small fire at Majestic forces evacuations
No injuries reported in Monday morning fire

A small fire in the basement of the Majestic Theatre downtown forced evacuations Monday morning, San Antonio fire officials said.
The fire started around 10:30 a.m. in a washing machine.
Smoke apparently rose up through the ventilation to some upper floors, so the people who live above the Majestic on those floors were evacuated.
The fire was quickly put out and no one was hurt.
Residents were allowed back in shortly after.
