South Bexar County man accused of stabbing brother to protect sister
Brother in critical condition after stabbing
A South Bexar County man is accused of stabbing his brother in order to protect their sister who was being attacked, according to a detective with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
The violent conflict happened around 9 a.m. Wednesday at the family’s home in the 1300 block of Yellow Sky.
Detective Jesse Ochoa said investigators who arrived at the home found a man in his 20s suffering from a single stab wound to his chest.
His sister also had suffered a gash on her head, he said.
Ochoa said they determined the two siblings, along with another brother, had been involved in a dispute that turned physical.
"One brother struck the sister, and then a second brother jumped in to defend his sister. And during the fight, he ended up stabbing his brother, " Ochoa said.
Other investigators at the scene said the brother who was stabbed had been destroying property inside the home. When his sister objected, he went on the attack, they said.
Ochoa said it appeared the brother who did the stabbing was protecting his sister.
That man, he said, took off into some nearby woods.
Detectives said it’s possible, though, that he may not face any charges.
The brother with the stab wound was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
The sister also had to be taken to a hospital for treatment, Ochoa said.
