South Texas RV Show gets underway
300 units on display Thursday-Sunday
The South Texas RV Super Sale Show opened its doors Thursday at the Freeman Coliseum Expo Hall
Three hundred units are on display ranging from $10,000 to roughly $500,000.
The American Eagle is perhaps the granddaddy of them all, according to show veteran Steve Lyons, of Ancira RV. On sale for nearly $480,000, it boasts a full-size refrigerator, stackable washer and dryer, and dishwasher, among other features.
"I'm looking at those kinds of things," said experienced RVer Robin Spalding.
Another gem of the show, says Lyons, is the Newmar Canyon Star, which is the only RV in the country with manufacturer-installed wheelchair access -- instead of as an after-market addition.
"It has the latest and greatest lift," said Lyons. "And when the wheelchair comes into the dining room, it can roll up to the table. Then in the galley, the countertops are lower."
The Canyon Star is on sale for $159,000.
The show lasts through Sunday at the Freeman Colliseum Expo Center.
On Friday and Saturday, doors open at 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
Doors open at 10 a.m. Sunday and close at 6 p.m.
