Southside ISD Police Dept. Hosts Holiday Toy Drive

Giving back, spreading cheer that is what the Southside ISD police department did Saturday during their second annual toy drive. Twenty families from four elementary schools in the district were invited to this holiday party.  Santa was there in his sleigh and handed out gifts to the children. The officers say the best part of this event is seeing the smiles it brings. Sergeant Robert O'Callaghan says this was truly a community and district-wide effort. Local businesses, families, students and staff stepped in to help buy the gifts for the children.
