The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is more than an eight-second ride, and its impact is felt long after the cowboys clear the AT&T Center each February.

The rodeo is an entertaining boost to our local economy and has the distinction of being the best indoor rodeo in the country for seven years running.

But it also makes a measurable impact on agricultural education across Texas throughout the year.

Since it started 63 years ago, the organization has raised more than $113 million to help more than 5,600 college students.

Plus, the thousands of volunteers who help make it happen demonstrate a level of service to this community that deserves recognition.

We congratulate the rodeo and their volunteers for a job well done and thank them for their dedication to help the youth of Texas.
