SAN ANTONIO -

Cecelia Maurer and her husband helped police track down their stolen car Wednesday morning, all thanks to a smart phone app called Find My iPhone.

Maurer’s husband had left his iPhone on inside his Toyota when a thief took off with the car.

But the app is designed to let other authorized users look up the location of the phone.

“So I checked my app and saw where his car was parked within seconds,” said Maurer.

Police met the couple at the Skyline Motel on Austin Highway, where the app said the car was parked.

That’s where they found the car in the parking lot.

Police were able to determine which room the suspect was staying him and arrested him.

“The guy definitely fought with police and they had use a (stun gun) on him,” said Maurer.

Police have not released the identity of the suspect, but said he will charged with felony burglary of a vehicle, a theft of vehicle, and a felon in possession of a firearm.
