A Southeast Texas store clerk was bitten during a robbery last weekend.
Freeport police said the robber attacked Mohammed Meah, a clerk at the Shamrock Mini Mart, before robbing the store about 6 p.m. Saturday.
"He just all of a sudden get to the register and choked me," Meah said.
The clerk said the robber then bit his face. "He tried to kill me," Meah said.
Surveillance cameras were rolling during the attack.
Video showed the man walk into the store and pretend to be a customer. He was seen making a fake stop at the ATM.
Police said the thief made a mad dash around the counter, grabbed Meah from behind and started choking him.
Meah said the robber roughed him up, dragged him across the floor and bit his face.
"Then I finally fell down and he said, 'OK, open the register,'" Meah said.
The robber got away with about $700 in cash, investigators said.
