Strong winds and rain caused some trees to fall over and take some of the street with it.
One entire tree uprooted and came down landing across a homeowner's driveway. It happened in a neighborhood off of Jones Maltsberger and Oil Field Drive around 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Those residents said they were getting ready to sit down for breakfast when it happened.
"We heard this loud boom and my wife said, 'what is that', and we thought it was thunder. But then I remembered that since this rain has started, we hadn't heard any thunder, so then I got up and looked out my front door and I could see the tree in the yard," said Tommy Odom.
The Odoms said they do have homeowners insurance. Crews are clearing the tree from the driveway so the couple can get their cars out of the garage.
Odom did say the tree caused some damage to the shingles of the house.
