Surveillance video catches thieves
Thieves hit real estate company twice
A San Antonio real estate company is asking for the public's help after thieves who broke into two of their properties were caught on surveillance video.
Video showed the two men and one woman walk out of the elevator at the office building in the 10000 block of San Pedro early last Friday about 4 a.m.
"We've got them on video robbing a few of our tenants at this location and another location down the street," said Michael Shackelford, a spokesman for the building owner which requested to remain anonymous. "It looks like they were aware of the property and knew exactly where to go."
While the men are busy loading stolen computer equipment onto a dolly, the woman took a peek at the alarm to see if it had triggered. It didn't but the thieves' movement set off the security cameras.
"We're hoping the public will come and contact SAPD if they're aware of the alleged perpetrators of this crime," said Shackelford. "At this time, we're reassessing our security measures at our properties and refining them and hopefully implementing a 24-hour secure facility."
After hitting up the first property, the trio headed to a second location at Loop 410 and McCullough, where they entered through a back door and put on gloves from a supply closet posing as a cleaning crew. They apparently attempted a dry run on one last stakeout Thursday morning in a gold colored Mitsubishi Montero.
"The night before, they were staking out the place and our day porter came in and they were scared off by the presence of our day porter," said Shackelford.
