Suspect accused of ID theft, getting loans in man's name
Police: William Stuart, 32, got fraudulent loans totaling $6k
William Stuart is his name, but San Antonio police said the 32-year-old suspect used another man’s name and personal information to obtain two loans.
Stuart was arrested Wednesday on a charge of fraudulent use of identifying information.
A man reported to police last November that someone had stolen his identity, and obtained two loans, totaling $6,000, in his name in September.
An arrest warrant affidavit said a $5,000 loan was obtained through Security Service bank, and a $1,000 loan came from the Sun Loan Company.
Detectives said they determined through surveillance photos from both businesses that Stuart was the person who applied for the loans, the affidavit stated.
They said employees also identified Stuart in a photo lineup as the man who applied for the loans, the affidavit stated.
