Suspect arrested for San Marcos party killing
Brelyn Javon Sorrells charged with murder
A 20-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for the murder of a party-goer Sunday.
San Marcos police said Brelyn Javon Sorrells was one of approximately 300 people at party at a home on 704 Allen Street. Police said Sorrells got into an altercation and stabbed 20-year-old Arthur Martinez.
Martinez died at a hospital.
"There were many witnesses who gave inconsistent statements about the event, and people were tampering with the evidence and with witnesses," said Chief Howard Williams. "The investigation uncovered additional victims about whom we were not aware the night that it happened."
Sorrells is charged with murder. Police said other charges were expected. He's jailed under a $750,000 bond.
