SAN ANTONIO -

A fingerprint has tied Delana Grubbe, 29, to at least one theft at Flying J’s truck stop, but she may be behind a series of auto burglaries there, San Antonio police said.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, investigators found the fingerprint inside an 18-wheeler belonging to one victim.

The truck driver told police he was asleep in the back of his big rig, which was parked at Flying J’s on Foster Road last November, when he heard someone in the front  area of the vehicle, the affidavit stated.

The trucker said he went to investigate and noticed a woman running across the parking lot.

When he went after her, the trucker said he found his wallet on the ground, but $130 in cash that it had contained was missing, the affidavit stated. Police used the fingerprint to tie Grubbe to the crime.

They said at the time the theft was committing, they already were investigating a series of similar burglaries at the truck stop.

Grubbe was booked into the Bexar County jail on a theft charge Wednesday.
