Armed robber hits 2 NE Side hotels

SAN ANTONIO -

Police said a man armed with a gun robbed two Northeast Side hotels within minutes of each other late Monday night.

The suspected robber walked into the Best Western in the 4900 block of Rittiman Road carrying a 45-caliber gun around 11:40 p.m.

Police said he robbed the front desk clerk at gunpoint and made off with an unknown amount of cash. He also stole a woman's purse in the parking lot.

Police said the robber then walked across the street to the Comfort Suites in the 6300 block of Interstate 35 and robbed the front desk clerk there. The man then fled on foot.

Police said they have a description of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call police. The clerks were not injured.
