A cab driver was robbed at gunpoint late Thursday night by a man who had posed as a customer.
According to police, the man got into the car just before 11 p.m. off Potranco Road.
The man told the cabbie he wanted to go to Rector and Jones Maltsberger, but then pulled a gun on the driver.
The man took the driver's wallet and fled on foot, police said.
The cabbie drove to Rector and McCullough and called police to report the robbery.
He told investigators he saw the suspect run behind Fire Station 17.
Police have a description of the man but have not arrested him. The cab driver was not injured.
