Suspected DWI driver accused of sideswiping car, causing wreck at East Side home
San Antonio police: Suspect fled crash, left behind license plate
A driver was arrested after San Antonio police said he left an important clue behind in a wreck that damaged an East Side house.
Investigators said the driver of a pick-up ran a red light at Rigsby Road and South New Braunfels and sideswiped a car.
That car lost control, went through a yard and struck the side of a house where the gas meter was located, San Antonio police said.
Everyone inside the home was evacuated while CPS Energy crews turned off the gas.
The truck lost its license plate in the wreck so investigators were able to catch up with the 27-year-old driver a few blocks away.
The suspect was charged with DWI and is expected to be charged with hit and run, San Antonio police said.
