SAPD officer taken to hospital after crash with DWI suspect

SAN ANTONIO -

Police say alcohol was a factor in a late night accident that sent one of their own to the hospital.

It happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday.

Police say a man t-boned a police car at the intersection of Burnet and N. New Braunfels.

The officer inside that car was taken to the hospital by another officer as a precaution.

Police say they found several beer cans inside the suspect's truck.

He was arrested and charged with DWI.
