SAN ANTONIO -

Two San Antonio police officers were hospitalized after a suspected drunk driver slammed into their patrol car late Wednesday night.

Investigators said the officers were driving through a green light on Judson Road when the driver of a car ran the red light and struck their police unit.

The driver at fault then jumped a curb, went down a grassy median into a parking lot where the vehicle finally came to a stop.

San Antonio police said the officers were transported to Northeast Baptist hospital for observation, and were expected to be OK.

The driver was arrested at the scene, and was expected to face DWI charges, San Antonio police said.
