Six suspected illegal immigrants were killed and nine others were injured following a police chase that ended in a crash at Naval Air Station Kingsville.

According to KRIS-TV.com, Kingsville police were chasing the pickup when it drove through the first checkpoint at the base.

A guard at the gate notified another guard, who put up a concrete barrier.

Moments later, the truck crashed into the barrier without stopping.

Six people died at the scene.

Several others were airlifted to local hospitals.
