SAN ANTONIO -

San Antonio arson investigators said two more suspicious fires broke out within minutes of each other on the Southwest Side late Sunday night.

The first fire was reported just before 11 p.m. at a garage in the 200 block of Carlisle.

Fire crews arrived to heavy smoke coming from the garage and put the fire out quickly.

No utilities were connected, but a car was inside the garage, fire officials said. Damage estimates were unknown.

The second fire was only a mile and a half away at a vacant home in the 300 block of Cottonwood.

Fire crews arrived to the house around 11:30 p.m., and it was fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze, but the home was completely destroyed.

Witnesses told fire investigators the people who were living at the home had just moved out days ago.

Arson investigators are looking into what caused each fire. No word if the two fires are connected.
