Teen driver plows into NW Side home
SAPD: Nobody injured, charges not likely
A teenager crashed a pickup truck through an entire home on the far Northwest Side early Friday morning.
Police responded to the accident around 2:30 a.m. in the 9400 block of Winding Elm.
Police said the 17-year-old driver plowed through the living room, dining room and kitchen in a Toyota Tundra before he finally came to a stop in the backyard.
Walls, cabinets and counter tops were torn out, and the home has structural damage as well as water damage from broken pipes, investigators said.
The teenager was not seriously hurt. Police said he took a breathalyzer test and no alcohol was detected. Police added he likely would not face charges but they are not sure what led to the accident.
Police said no one was in the home at the time. The home was under contract to be sold, however the buyer and seller have called off the deal.
