Just before 3 a.m. Sunday, a man was caught on surveillance video stealing several inflatable decorations from the front lawn of a home in the 1900 block of Harpers Ferry.

The surveillance footage shows a white car driving slowly past the home. A few minutes later a man is seen running across the lawn. He steals an inflatable sled and snow man before he comes back a second time and steals an inflatable train set and Santa Claus.

One of the homeowners, who only wanted to be identified as Diana, said they captured the man stealing from a nearby neighbor as well.

“He ran across the street to the other neighbors house taking their inflatable and ran back to his car,” she said. “Her snowman was also missing and they just put theirs out a couple nights ago.”

Diana said the decorations are replaceable and the thief will not ruin her family’s Christmas. She doesn’t think the stolen items will be found, but she reported the incident to police to protect her neighbors.

“This can't be left like that,” she said. “Other people need to be aware that this guy is out there."
