SAN ANTONIO -

A two-alarm fire ripped through a westside home forcing a family and firefighters to run for safety.

The fire call came out around 1:15 Saturday morning.

When fire crews arrived at the scene in the 6600 block of Old Hwy. 90 they found flames shooting from the roof of the house.

Four people inside managed to escape the fire.

Firefighters started to work the fire, but had to get out of the house when the flames got too intense.

They called for a second alarm and finally got the fire under control.

But the home is a total loss.

Fire investigators suspect an air conditioner might have started that fire.
