A pair of suspected robbers lead police on a brief foot chase before being arrested Tuesday morning.

Officers said around 9 a.m., the man and woman entered a Valero gas station, located at Interstate 35 and Rittiman Road.

The clerk told police when the couple went to pay for their items, they claimed they did not have enough money.

The pair put some of the groceries back and when the clerk opened the register to collect the cash, the man grabbed a stack of cash out of the register.

The clerk struggled to get the money back and then the couple took off running.

The woman was soon caught by police, but the man fled into a nearby neighborhood.

He was later found hiding at the Fairdale Apartments on Fairdale. He was arrested and will be charged with robbery and bodily injury.
