SAN ANTONIO -

Following are emails and text messages sent in by KSAT viewers after a rare earthquake shook the San Antonio area Thursday at 7:24 a.m.

Guadalupe S. Herrera "Felt the earthquake. I was seating working at San Antonio College my desk starting move back and forth also my chair. Scary feeling."

Connie Luna "I was in bed at 7:20ish this morning, when I heard a creaking side in my room and then I feel something under my bed, it was weird I though it was a ghost but I don't believe in ghost so I started to pray and I calmed down, as I was getting out of bed I heard on the news that the South end of town had experienced an earthquake and I realized that's what I had felt it was a very weird experience."

Judy "I felt a loud bumb (7:25) in the house blamed it on the dog but found out later around 8 that pipes in the yard burst and from the looks of the amount of leakage it hadn't been long since it started. We are in north Kerrville."

Carlyn White "I live up in Fredericksburg, and I felt a small tremor from that earthquake this morning. Very small, no shaking or moving, but even being half asleep, I knew it was an earthquake tremor."

Blanca Trevino "Wow.... an earthquake in San Antonio. I was driving off of Blue Wing Rd in Southeast San Antonio when I felt my truck weird thinking my alignment was off because for a split second it just felt weird. I get to work and find out that there had been an Earthquake. A co-worker here felt our Building shake. Amazing!"

Grace "I live between Blanco and Jackson Keller, closer to Lee HS. I was watching a cooking show when all of a sudden my bed started vibrating and the lamp shade started shaking, I thought, 'OMG, my bed is possessed.' I was to embarrassed to tell my husband for fear he might think I was crazy. Thank you for confirming that I am not."

Blanche "(I) work at the towers at Park Lane, right outside Fort Sam. I'm on the 7 h floor. I felt the chair that I was sitting in start shaking. I got up really quick, thought maybe I was dizzy or something. Then I noticed the ceiling fans and chandeliers were moving as well. It went on for a good 15 seconds. It was a very scary feeling, especially because i thought the building was going to fall or something. Hopefully we don't have an aftershock."

Cindy Custer "We felt the earthquake in the Three Rivers area."

Sue Jennings "I am from California and knew this was an earthquake right away. I was asleep and it woke me up. I ran outside to see if my pool water was moving, and it was. The house shook for about 10 seconds. Have been through many before."

P. Hamilton Gann "Felt the shallow earthquake here in Atascosa [SW Bexar County]. Not much more than the ones I grew up with in SoCal. As a kid, they were 'fun'. If this had not been as shallow as they say it was, 2-3 miles, barely anyone would have felt it. No damage out here that I'm aware of."

Carol "Sitting in San Antonio hotel room 8th floor of Hyatt and felt the floor sway slightly for about 10-15 seconds."

joselara8@gmail.com "Has anyone reported very small tremors in the San Antonio Area? I work at USAA and our building shook a little bit enough to stand up and really feel it. Nothing major, but I did confirm with other people on the other end of our large building they felt it as well. Highly doubt it was wind or construction."

Maren Phillips "We just had an earthquake in SA."

Maria Bosquez "At 7:25 this morning, several of us at our work location on Huebner and I-10 felt our 5 story building move. Was there some kind of tremor or quake this morning 10/20/2011?"

Gina Arriaga "I felt it! I was asleep and then suddenly realized my bed was softly rocking back and forth. I thought I was dreaming. By the time I got up, it had stopped. But yes, I felt it. I am off of Goliad Road near Southcross. (Brooks City Base area). WOW."

Sharon Carlin "I am at IH-10 and Medical area and I felt the earthquake. My entire building shook. I was on the bed watching the news and the entire bed was shaking. It lasted about 25 seconds. Both my animals were freaked out, each one thought the other was in the room and making the bed shake."

Frank Canales "San Antonio just had a earthquake."

Edward Roman "I felt the earthquake my bed shook like if I was on a boat. I thought it was a plane over me but then i saw it in the news, wow!"

Delia "We live in Pleasanton and felt it for a few seconds. I thought it was our cat, who frequently jumps on the roof my husband laughs and said, 'no way.' My daughter thought it was her dad on the roof. I said, 'no he was right next to me.' We knew after that it was definately something."

Pat Brandt "Earthquake felted here at the entrance to Choke Canyon State Park McMullen. Was finishing breakfast and the whole house trembled. The light fixture was swinging from side to side. (I) was going to blame husband for moving the table until I saw the light swinging. It really made your stomach feel funny."

Catherine Passmore "We felt the earthquake here in Karnes City, too. The whole ground underneath my house shook and trembled, and then the fire alarm went off! I thought something had happened with an oil/gas rig; maybe an explosion!"

Di Garcia "I live in central nw and I felt the tremor. I was on the bed and thought it was poltergiest. I'm glad I'm not crazy."

Samantha Martinez "I confirmed with another app on my phone. We just had an earthquake about 15 min ago. 4.7. I was a little confused and it lasted about 10 to 30 sec. My bed was moving and my jewelry was swinging and it sounded like a deep noisy sound."

Maria " I had just gotten home from dropping off my son from school and started to finish some art work I had. I was sitting at the dining room table trying to go over the drawing with a steady hand and I started filling my arm moving slightly as if the table was lightly moving, and I thought, 'What is going on?' I thought I had imagined it, how could such a big table be moving even a bit when it's so heavy?"
