A vintage biplane crashed Tuesday afternoon at Horizon Airfield on the far South Side.
The owner of the airfield says he saw the biplane initially land, and turn around to take off again. However, he said the plane started losing power and crashed into nearby trees and a fence.
"I was taking pictures of it in the air. Everything looked great and I turned around. He's going slow, slow. As soon as he hit, I had 911 on," said eyewitness Rusty Henley.
Two people were on board the plane at the time of the crash, but neither was reportedly injured.
