Kerrville police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who they said escaped from the Kerrville State Hospital on Sunday.

Police said Carlos Melendez-Martinez, 29, was last seen on Sunday, June 17, around 1 p.m. at the state hospital in the 700 block of Thompson.

He was being held on aggravated robbery and arson charges. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Meledez-Martinez is described as being 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Melendez-Martinez, is asked to call Kerrville police at 830-257-8181.
