Washington's 20 points lead Lincoln over Aledo in 4A semis, 64-44
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Alisha Washington scored 20 points and Dallas Lincoln held Aledo to just three field goals after the first quarter in rolling to a 64-44 win Thursday night in the Class 4A semifinals.
Lincoln (36-4) had to overcome a 10 of 42 shooting effort in the first half, but used tenacious defense to shut down just about everything Aledo tried to do. Aledo was just 9 of 38 shooting from the field.
Aledo (30-8) also struggled with 25 of 39 shooting from the free throw line. Megan Wood led Aledo with 13 points.
Jalah Walton had 12 points and 11 rebounds and Jade Colbert scored 14 for Lincoln, which will be playing in its seven state title game since 1999. The Tigers will be playing for the school's fourth state championship.
