The driver of a Waste Management truck was killed in a crash early Monday morning on the city's West Side.
Police said the driver tried to change lanes, but lost control of the truck and was ejected from the vehicle at Loop 410 at West Military at 5:30 a.m.
The driver died at the scene.
"From what witnesses are reporting, he was in the center lane and was attempting to change lanes when it looks like the driver lost control, probably due to the weather," said Sgt. Javier Salazar, a public information officer for the San Antonio Police Department. "He lost control to the point where he left the roadway and rolled down ... a 20-foot embankment."
Police have not said whether the driver was wearing a seatbelt.
