Waste truck overturns on I-10, causes big backup
A Monday morning wreck on Interstate 10 near Converse shut down the highway for several hours, causing a big traffic backup for morning commuters.
Police say a truck used to vacuum Port-a-Potties turned over on westbound I-10 near Foster Road around 5:30 a.m.
Police investigators said a speeding car collided with the tail-end of the truck, causing it to spin then flip over, spilling its load and covering the lane with human waste.
The driver of the speeding vehicle was taken to Mission Trails Baptist Hospital with apparent minor injuries.
Police had to shut down the highway while crews cleaned up the smelly mess.
