Water main break leaves homes without service north of downtown San Antonio

Residents in a near North Side neighborhood were left without water service after a pipe ruptured early Monday morning. 

SAWS crews responded to the water main break around 1 a.m. on West Woodlawn between North Flores and Blanco.

Crews had to dig up the line underneath West Woodlawn, so the eastbound lanes of the road were shut down.

SAWS says the water main break affected six homes and a nursing home. Repairs were expected to be complete by 7 a.m.
