The public is invited to the Rib-Eating Contest between the San Antonio Police and Fire Departments. It's on Saturday at 12:00pm at the Texas Roadhouse on San Pedro Avenue. The San Antonio Film Festival continues this weekend. Independent filmmakers from the Alamo City and from around the world present their works across five locations throughout the city. The festival runs through Sunday. Click here for a full schedule and ticket prices.
It's live music for a good cause on Sunday as JOVEN host is first annual benefit concert at Floore's Country Store in Helotes. The show is from 1:00pm-5:00pm and features Mario Flores and the Soda Creek Band, the Jonathan Moody Band, Travis Simpson, and the Bexar County Skill Cranes. All proceeds benefit JOVAN, a nonprofit organization that helps low-income children in San Antonio.
