A look at what's happening in the Alamo City
Ballet Folklorico De Mexico De Amalia Hernandez is back in San Antonio. The group has been touring for more than 50 years and is as dramatic and captivating as ever. The show is Saturday night at the Lila Cockrell Theatre, starting at 7:30pm. There is a matinee show on Sunday afternoon. Click here for tickets.
Combining two great things, oysters and fall, the inaugural Baketoberfest promises to be the start of great tradition. The event features Jack Ingram, Roger Creager and the Texas Tornadoes, among others. Expect food similar to the Fiesta Oysterbake.
It starts at 4:30pm Saturday at the Bud Light courtyard outside the AT&T Center. Tickets are $25 online and $35 at the gate.
Also Saturday night is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light the Night walk. The unique fundraising event happens at twilight, with teams and individuals holding illuminated balloons, white for survivors, red for supporters and gold to remember those who have died. It leaves from Hemisfair Park at 7:30. Click here to register.
Sunday, The Drugstore Cowboys will celebrate their 40th anniversary and new CD with a no-cover concert at Floore's Country Store. Plenty of friends will be joining them. The free show starts at 3:00p.m.
Legendary Texas rockers, ZZ Top, kick off their two-night show at the Majestic Theater. They play at 7:30pm on Sunday and Monday. Click here for tickets.
