There are a number of local events scheduled Tuesday to commemorate victims of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks. Here are a few:
New Life Christian Ministry is holding a memorial scheduled for 9 a.m. The 9/11 Memorial is on the campus of the Christian center located at 6610 Highway 90 West.
The keynote speaker will be retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Chuck Carroll along with Bexar County Sheriff Amadeo Ortiz and San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood.
Mayor Julian Castro is expected to attend as well. The Lackland Air Force Base Honor Guard will participate in a special wreath laying ceremony.
The New Braunfels police and fire departments will host a silent memorial at Main Plaza.
The public is invited to stand with their emergency service personnel to honor those that lost their lives on 9/11. Ceremonies will conclude shortly after 9 a.m.
The University of the Incarnate Word is inviting the community to a 9/11 prayer service Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
The interfaith prayer service will be at Our Lady's Chapel on the UIW campus located at 4301 Broadway.
