A man's wild ride ended with a CPS pole busted and his car on the porch of a southside house.
The man told police a family emergency caused him to speed down W. Burcham St. just before 11 p.m. Friday.
He told police he lost control and slammed into the pole and sheered it off.
He then skidded onto the porch of a house, police say.
The pole was destroyed, but CPS says no homes or businesses lost power.
That pole will cost the driver $11,000 but police say the man wasn't ticketed and won't face charges.
