Metro Health reports two Chinese restaurants, Wok on Wheels and April Chinese food, failed their recent health inspections.
Wok on Wheels bills itself as San Antonio's best Chinese food delivered fast. However, their location on DeZavala Road failed with 43 demerits.
The inspector found dirty utensils and no restroom for dine-in customers.
If dine-in is allowed, the health code makes restrooms mandatory. The owner says the restroom issue was a miscommunication and will post a sign saying "carry-out and delivery only."
She tells KSAT's Behind the Kitchen Door all their other problems were taken care of by last Tuesday.
April Chinese food is in Southtown on South Alamo. They failed their most recent inspection with 33 demerits.
The inspector noted some food in their walk-in cooler was thrown away because it was contaminated by dust and condensation from cooling fans.
Flies and mosquitoes were in the dining room and roaches were found in the kitchen.
The owner was not there when KSAT checked in, but a manager said they had their violations corrected the next day and she's seen no bugs since pest control was called in.
