A 24-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the February shooting at a Northeast Side bar.
Bexar County Sheriff's Office detectives took Shemecka McKnight, 24, into custody Saturday in connection with the Feb. 1 shooting at the Old Soldiers Club in the 6200 block of Binz Engleman Road.
An arrest warrant affidavit stated that McKnight and her ex-girlfriend had been involved in an argument outside the club that got so heated that the bouncer had to break it up.
A witness told investigators that McKnight then went to her car, pulled out a gun and said she was going to "light this place up," the affidavit stated.
Witnesses told deputies they saw McKnight fire several shots at the building at first and then tried to get inside. However, the bouncer had already locked the door, the affidavit stated.
Detectives at the scene said one of the bullets grazed a bar employee's finger.
A warrant was issued for McKnight's arrest shortly after the shooting, but she was taken into custody this past weekend. She was charged with aggravated assault.
