NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -

A Comal County woman is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the St. Jude's Ranch for Children in New Braunfels.

The New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung reports Monica Shea Barrington, 36, was indicted by the Comal County grand jury earlier this month on a felony theft charge.

Barrington allegedly stole between $1,500 and $20,000 from St. Jude's Ranch between May and December of 2010.

If convicted, the Herald-Zeitung reports Barrington could get up to 20 years in jail and be fined up to $10,000.

St. Jude's Ranch serves abused and neglected children and their families.
