SAN ANTONIO -

An early morning head-on crash on the city's north side claims the life of one woman.

The accident happening around 5 a.m. on Friday on Wetmore Road near Loop 410.

According to police, a woman, identified by the Medical Examiner's Office on Friday afternoon as Kayla Marlow, 23, of Jourdanton, traveling in a Chevrolet Cobalt swerved into the oncoming lane, crashing head-on with the driver of a Lexus SUV.

Marlow died at the scene, investigators said. The driver in the SUV was not injured.

Officers say Marlow was not wearing a seat belt and they found three cans of beer in the front seat of her car.
