A suspected drive-by shooter fire a shot through a wall and hit a woman in the chest, police say.

The shooting happened late Friday night in the 1100 block of Hammond on the southeast side.

Police say it appears someone fired a shot from outside a woman's home.

They say that bullet went through a wall and struck the woman in the chest.

EMS transported her to University Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Police are now trying to find the shooter.
