Police: Victim gave wallet to suspect, still shot in leg

SAN ANTONIO -

A woman taking out the trash at a near Northeast Side apartment complex was robbed and then shot early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to the shooting around 12:30 a.m. in the 3600 block of Binz-Engleman Road.

Investigators said the victim, who is in her 20s, walked out with her trash when a man approached her and demanded her wallet.

Police said she complied with the suspect the man still shot her in the leg.

She was taken to the San Antonio Military Medical Center for treatment, but is expected to recover.

The suspected shooter fled the scene and remained at-large Wednesday morning.
