Alamo Heights water tests positive for E. coli
No boil water notice issued; Raw ground water sample had not entered distribution system
Alamo Heights Water System has removed a well from service after a water sample tested positive for E. coli.
According to a statement issued by the city, the raw ground water sample was taken on Monday from well No. 6, located in the 6100 block of Broadway.
The city says they will not issue a boil water notice and residents do not need to treat their water before use.
All raw ground water is treated and disinfected before it enters the distribution system.
The city is investigating the source of the bacteria and will follow Texas Commission on Environmental Quality guidelines to treat the well.
