If you don't already have a parking permit for the Alamodome, don't plan on parking there for Saturday's football game between UTSA and Oklahoma State University.
City officials are encouraging people to plan ahead to park in private lots or downtown parking garages. A new pedestrian path opened to replace the existing one, which is closed because it is under construction.
The new path is on Commerce Street. It includes a bike path.
Pedestrians can take Market Street, turn north onto Bowie Street, then right onto Commerce Street. Officers will also be in the area to help with the extra foot traffic. There are also signs on Commerce Street directing pedestrians to the new bridge.
VIA is also offering Park-and-Ride buses from four locations:
- UTSA main campus - Parking lots BK1 and BK2
- San Antonio International Airport
- Crossroads Park & Ride
- Madla Transit Center
The last bus leaves for the game at 10:15 a.m. The final bus leaving the Alamodome takes off 45 minutes after the end of the game. You can find more information on that service here.
