SAN ANTONIO -

An alleged hit and run led to a deadly crash on the city's west side.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of General McMullen and Wallace.

According to police, a 57-year-old man fled the scene of another crash at a high rate of speed, when he struck and killed a pedestrian walking across the street.

Witnesses who were following the driver at the original crash were able to detain the man until police arrived.

Police said the victim is a man in his early twenties.

The driver could be facing intoxication manslaughter charges.

There were no injuries from the original crash.
