SAN ANTONIO -

A home invasion suspect was stabbed to death during a scuffle with an accomplice and two victims Friday night.

Police were called to the Pan American Apartments at 143 NW 36th Street around 9 p.m. Friday.

Five people, including four adults and a toddler, were inside an apartment when they said two armed men forced their way inside and demanded cash.

Police said a scuffle broke out, and one of the adult victims was stabbed in the leg, and another was pistol-whipped.

"It looks like at some point, one of the victims may have gained the upper hand and one of the suspects was stabbed, fatally as it turns out. That suspect remains unidentified at this time." said Sergeant Javier Salazar.

That suspect died at the scene.

Witnesses said the other suspect lived in the complex. Police are still looking for that suspect.

The stabbing victim was taken to University Hospital but was expected to be okay.

The other resident was taken to police headquarters for questioning.
