Mourners pay tribute to fallen soldier

Army Specialist Isiah Booker, 23, killed in non-combat incident in Jordan

SAN ANTONIO – Dozens of community members gathered to pay tribute to a San Antonio-area soldier who was killed two weeks ago.

As a sign of respect, the mourners gathered along Harmon Drive for the “dignified transfer” of U.S. Army Specialist Isiah L. Booker.

The 23-year-old native of Cibolo was killed on Jan. 7 in Jordan in a non-combat incident.

“I think it's important that we remember everyone that's out there sacrificing their lives for us,” Jaime Medina said.

Booker was assigned to the 2nd Ranger Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group based out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, at the time of his death.
