Arrest made in Northwest Side storage unit thefts

Phillip Allison, 35, caught on camera, police say

SAN ANTONIO – Phillip Allison, 35, has been arrested in connection with the burglaries of several storage units at a storage facility on the city's Northwest Side. San Antonio police said they made the arrest with some help from his friend.

San Antonio police responded to the storage facility on Dec. 28 and found out that someone had broken the locks on several units and stole items from them. One victim claimed to have lost about $3,000 worth of property, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

The affidavit said that police obtained surveillance video showing a man, later identified as Allison, entering the facility by punching in a code on a keypad at the gate. Police said the man entered the facility on several occasions.

The affidavit said that on Jan. 5, police got a call from a man who told them he had information about the burglaries. It said that he told investigators he was a friend of Allison and that he suspected Allison may have been using his SUV to commit the burglaries.

Police said the friend was able to positively identify Allison in the surveillance photos.
