AT&T Texas contributes $50,000 dollars to Center for the Intrepid

Governor Greg Abbott joins check presentation ceremony

SAN ANTONIO – Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Friday joined representatives from AT&T Texas for a check presentation ceremony at the Center for the Intrepid on Fort Sam Houston.

AT&T Texas presented a $50,000 check to Dave Winters, president of the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

“We couldn’t be more honored to support this important organization,” said Linda Ward, Sr. vice president for external affairs at AT&T Texas.

“Your gift will support improvements to the Center for the Intrepid,” Winters addressed to donors.

“I acknowledge the generosity of AT&T Texas for his incredible contribution to further advance this center,” Abbott said.

Noting that he had been a patient at Brooke Army Medical Center for treatment of burns to his feet and leg earlier this year, Abbott said, “I got to see firsthand the medical genius that we see at Brooke Army Medical Center and the care they provide.”

He also reminded Texans of the sacrifices made by veterans, as he urged them to show their support on Veterans Day.

“Use every opportunity you have to thank someone who is serving or who has served,” Abbott said.
