GARDEN RIDGE, Texas -

After searching for more than a week authorities in Garden Ridge have called off the search for Leanne Bearden.

Family members said the 33-year-old went missing after she left a relative’s house to go for a walk.

“She said she was going to go for a walk, and I said, ‘How long are you going to be gone?’ and she said an hour,” said Leanne’s husband, Josh Bearden. “I said, ‘OK babe, take your time.’ That’s the last thing I said to her.”

More than 100 law enforcement agents and Garden Ridge residents searched a 23 square-mile area by land and air searching for Bearden.

The search was called off after authorities said they scoured the area they believe Bearden could have reached on foot.

On Sunday, Josh Bearden said he is not done looking.

“There's still a lot of area that needs to be covered that I feel that Leanne could have walked,” he said.

Bearden left without her cellphone and there has been no activity on her credit cards.

Investigators are confident that she was not a victim of foul play and may have gotten lost or disoriented.

Her husband, who police do not consider a person of interest, said the only thing he can do is hope that she is safe.

“I have no idea what happened. We have no clues,” Josh said. “The second that I lose my hope, Leanne is gone. My biggest fear is that I’ll lose my hope."
