An 8-month old baby is dead and investigators are now trying to determine how the fatal fire in an eastside home started.

The fire started Sunday a little after 2:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Morningview Dr.

Fire crews were able to put out the flames quickly, but found the baby dead during a search of the home.

The other three children got out of the burning home safely.

Battalion Chief Connie Hall said, "While we were responding there was a lot of screaming going on.  We found grandparents trying to get back into the house."

They say the fire started in the infant's room and quickly spread to the rest of the home.

The Fire Department says the cause of the fire might be electrical, but it is still under investigation.

The damage is estimated at $90,000.

The name of the dead baby had not yet been released.
